Privacy Policy

Last updated: 16 July 2026

Pots & Planters UK (“we”, “us”, “our”) is committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains what personal data we collect through potsandplantersuk.com, how we use it, and the rights you have under the UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018.

1. Who we are

Pots & Planters UK operates the website potsandplantersuk.com as a showroom for designer fibreglass planters, outdoor furniture and garden sculpture. Purchases are transacted on Amazon.co.uk under Amazon’s own terms and privacy policy. You can contact our data team at privacy@potsandplantersuk.com.

2. What we collect

We only collect the minimum data needed to run this website:

  • Email addresses submitted to our newsletter, discount popup, or Planter Studio share flow.
  • Saved Planter Studio designs (uploaded room photos and product selections) when you choose to save a design to your account.
  • Trade & contact enquiries (name, email, company, message) submitted through our forms.
  • Account data if you register (email, hashed password, saved designs, order history metadata).
  • Technical data (IP address, browser, device, pages visited) via cookies and analytics, only where you consent.

We do not process payment card data on this site — payments are made on Amazon.co.uk, which handles all card and billing information under its own policies.

3. Lawful basis for processing

  • Consent (UK GDPR Art. 6(1)(a)) — for marketing emails, non-essential cookies, and saving designs.
  • Legitimate interests (Art. 6(1)(f)) — for essential site operation, security, fraud prevention and responding to your enquiries.
  • Contract (Art. 6(1)(b)) — where you hold an account with us.

4. How long we keep data

  • Newsletter subscribers — until you unsubscribe, plus 30 days.
  • Saved Studio designs — while your account is active; deleted 12 months after inactivity.
  • Trade & contact enquiries — up to 24 months from last correspondence.
  • Analytics data — 14 months maximum.

5. Who we share it with

We share data only with vetted processors acting on our instructions: our hosting provider, email delivery service, and analytics provider. We never sell personal data. Amazon UK operates as a separate data controller for your order data.

6. International transfers

Some processors are based outside the UK. Where this occurs we rely on UK Adequacy Regulations or the International Data Transfer Agreement (IDTA) to protect your data.

7. Your rights

Under UK GDPR you have the right to:

  • Access a copy of your personal data
  • Have inaccurate data rectified
  • Request erasure (“the right to be forgotten”)
  • Restrict or object to processing
  • Data portability
  • Withdraw consent at any time

Contact privacy@potsandplantersuk.com to exercise any of these rights. We aim to respond within 30 days.

8. Complaints

If you are unhappy with how we’ve handled your data, you can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO): ico.org.uk, 0303 123 1113, or Wycliffe House, Water Lane, Wilmslow, Cheshire SK9 5AF.

9. Changes

We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be highlighted at the top of this page.
